ویلیام لیون مکنزی کینگ آخرین دورهٔ نخست‌وزیری خود را بین سال‌های ۱۹۳۵ و ۱۹۴۸ پشت سر می‌گذاشت؛ او پیش از این هم به‌عنوان نخست‌وزیر کانادا منصوب شده بود، اما بیشتر به‌دلیل فعالیتش در طول این دوره و سال‌های گذر از جنگ جهانی شناخته میشود. ازجمله سیاست‌های او در طول دوران جنگ می‌توان به برقراری بیمهٔ بیکاری و امضای توافقنامهٔ گمرکی با بریتانیا و ایالات متحده اشاره کرد. اگرچه بدون شک او خودش را مردی خیرخواه و نیکوکار قلمداد می‌کرد، درهرصورت پرورش‌یافتهٔ آن دوران بود و ارزش‌هایی مشترک با دیگر کانادایی‌های آن دوران داشت. او بدون شک فردی نژادپرست و یهودستیز بود و بیش از هر فرد دیگری در کابینه، مسئولیت دورنگه‌داشتن مهاجران یهودی را از خاک کانادا در طول جنگ جهانی، به‌عهده داشت. او در کتاب خاطرات خود بارها عنوان کرده بود که به‌خاطر ساخت بمب‌هایی که عامل کشتار بی‌گناهان است، اندوه شدیدی در قلبش احساس می‌کند، اما پس از حادثهٔ انفجار بمب اتم در هیروشیما و ناکازاکی در کتاب خاطراتش این‌چنین نوشت: «جای بسی خوشبختی است که این بمب به‌جای سفیدپوستان اروپایی برای مردم ژاپن مورد استفاده قرار گرفت.»
بازداشت ژاپنی-کانادایی‌ها ژاپنی‌های بازداشت‌‌شده‌ای که در سال ۱۹۴۲ به کار ساخت بزرگراه یلوهلد (Yellowhead Highway) در غرب کانادا گمارده شده بودند در طول جنگ جهانی اول، بسیاری از ژاپنی‌ها برای حضور در میدان نبرد داوطلب شدند تا بتوانند حقوق ازدست‌رفتهٔ خود به‌عنوان شهروندان کانادایی را به‌دست آورند و از سنگینی نگاه تبعیض‌آمیز مردم کانادا بکاهند، اما دولت وقت کانادا تقاضای آنها را، همانند بسیاری از مهاجران و بومیان آمریکای شمالی، نپذیرفت. آنها حتی به ارتش و دولت کانادا پیشنهاد تشکیل یک هنگ متشکل از مهاجران را ارائه کردند که آن هم در نهایت از سوی ارتش رد شد. اصرار بسیار زیاد آنها برای کمک به کانادا برای حضور در میدان نبرد، باعث شد تا در نهایت برای انجام کارهای مربوط به پشتیبانی و جذب نیرو در نقاط دورافتاده به خدمت گرفته شوند. خدمتی که در نهایت هیچ تأثیری روی وضعیت و رتبهٔ اجتماعی آنها نداشت.
حمله به پرل هاربر در هفتم دسامبر ۱۹۴۱ باعث شد بخش اعظمی از بریتیش کلمبیا، ازجمله اعضای دولت محلی، روزنامه‌ها و صاحبان مشاغل برای دفاع از مقررات کانادا، درخواست خود برای بازداشت ژاپنی‌ها را اعلام کنند. در بریتیش کلمبیا این ترس وجود داشت که ماهیگیران ژاپنی در حقیقت در حال گشت‌زنی و آماده‌سازی زمینه برای حضور نیروهای ژاپنی در مرزهای ساحلی‌اند، و در واقع به‌عنوان جاسوس به ارتش ژاپن کمک میکنند. مناطق ساحلی بریتیش کلمبیا در کنار اقیانوس آرام قرار داشت و به‌همین دلیل گمان میشد مقصد بعدی حملهٔ نیروهای ژاپنی خواهد بود. در طول دههٔ ۱۹۴۰ بیش از ۲۲٬۰۰۰ ژاپنی مقیم کانادا (که ۱۴٬۰۰۰ نفر از آنها در کانادا متولد شده بودند) به اردوگاه‌های بازداشت اعزام شدند. به‌دلیل آنکه هیچ مدرکی مبنی بر جاسوسی و خیانت ژاپنی‌ها وجود نداشت، نخست‌وزیر مکنزی کینگ دستور بازداشت موقت آنها را صادر کرد.
در ۲۴ فوریهٔ ۱۹۴۲، قانونی تحت عنوان «قانون تدابیر جنگی» به‌تصویب رسید که بر اساس آن دولت کانادا اجازه داشت «تمام افرادی را که دارای اصالت ژاپنی‌اند» دستگیر و بازداشت نماید.
ژاپنی‌ها با پشتکار و بهره‌وری مثال‌زدنی خود توانسته بودند در تمام بخش‌های صنعت کانادا نفوذ کرده و به‌راحتی گوی سبقت را از کارگران سفیدپوست بربایند. آنها تقریباً به‌شکل کامل صنعت ماهیگیری را به تسخیر خود درآورده بودند، به‌طوری‌که در سال ۱۹۱۹ تعداد مجوزهای ماهیگیری صادرشده برای ژاپنی‌ها به ۳۲۶۷ عدد رسیده بود. این تعداد مجوز برای ماهیگیران کانادایی زنگ خطر را به صدا درآورده و باعث شده بود در مقابل حریفان سخت‌کوش ژاپنی احساس خطر کنند. با تشکیل مدارس ژاپنی‌زبان، ساخت معابد بودایی و ازدواج در سنین پایین، بسیاری از ژاپنی‌ها به بی‌علاقگی و عدم وفاداری نسبت به فرهنگ کانادایی و تلاش برای تغییر آن محکوم شدند.
رفتارهای صورت گرفته طی دوره جنگ با کانادایی‌های ژاپنی‌تبار تا سال‌ها مایه شرمساری مقامات دولتی بود. در سال ۱۹۶۱، لویی سن-لوران (وزیر خارجه سابق) در مصاحبه‌ای تلویزیونی از اقدام دولت برای توقیف اموال ژاپنی‌تباران و اقلیت‌های نژادی دفاع کرد. البته این موضع همه مقامات دولتی نبود. در سال ۱۹۶۴، لستر پیرسون (نخست وزیر وقت) اقدام برای کوچ اجباری ژاپنی‌تباران را «لکه‌ای سیاه» در تاریخ کانادا خواند.
در دهه ۱۹۷۰، کانادایی‌های ژاپنی‌تبار مثل آمریکایی‌های ژاپنی‌تبار اقدام به برگزاری یک سری رویداد و کمپین برای یادآوری خاطرات روزهای سخت گذشته کردند. اتحایده ملی کانادایی‌های ژاپنی‌تبار (NAJC) و برخی گروه‌های دیگر، کمپینی را برای درخواست غرامت از دولت آغاز کردند. با این وجود، این کمپین با مقاومت دولت روبرو شد. کهنه‌سربازان کانادایی که طی دوره جنگ در اسارت ژاپنی‌ها بودند، با این درخواست‌ها مخالفت می‌کردند. با وجود اینکه پی‌یر ترودو (نخست‌وزیر وقت) از اقدامات صورت گرفته طی آن دوران ابراز تاسف می‌کرد، با دادن غرامت به بازماندگان مخالف بود.
اما دولت محافظه‌کار برایان مولرونی با درخواست‌های ژاپنی‌تباران همراه شد. در اواسط دهه ۱۹۸۰ میلادی، گفتگوها در این زمینه آغاز شد. با این وجود، دولت حاضر نبود خیلی سریع، بودجه‌ای بابت این کار اختصاص دهد. مذاکرات درباره اینکه آیا این غرامت باید به افراد به صورت تکی پرداخت شود و یا اینکه به صورت کلی به مجموعه‌ای از ژاپنی‌تباران داده شود جریان داشت.
اما ظاهرا این بار هم قرار بود کانادا پیرو همسایه جنوبی باشد! در سپتامبر ۱۹۸۸ قانونی در کنگره آمریکا برای پرداخت غرامت به ژاپنی‌تباران تصویب شد و شش هفته بعد نیز بالاخره دولت کانادا با سازمان‌های حامی کانادایی‌های ژاپنی‌تبار به توافق رسید.
بر اساس این توافق، دولت فدرال ضمن عذرخواهی رسمی، باید مبلغ ۲۱ هزار به هر بازمانده ژاپنی‌تبار پرداخت می‌کرد. همچنین یک صندوق با سرمایه ۱۲ میلیون دلار برای ژاپنی‌تباران تاسیس شد و مبلغی نیز در اختیار بنیاد روابط نژادی کانادا قرار گرفت تا برای پروژه‌های مرتبط با حقوق بشر هزینه کند.

اگر رستم امام زاده بود، برایش حتمن در دوران صفویه، بقعه و بارگاهی میساختند. ترقی و پیشرفت استان ما هم حداقل از رژیم گذشته شروع میشد. دلیلش این است که اعلیحضرت فقید که همیشه به ائمه اطهار ارادت قلبی داشتند، علاوه بر زیارت مشهد مقدس به سیستان و بلوچستان مقدس هم مشرف میشدند. میدانید که ذات همایونی هر کجا که نزول اجلال میفرمودند، دستورات اکیدی هم صادر میفرمودند. حتم دارم روی ارادتی که به مرحوم فردوسی داشتند برای گسترش و مطلا کردن صحن مقدس حضرت رستم ارواحنا فدا، بودجۀ لازمه در اختیار تولیت بارگاه قرار میدادند.
